Been feeling quite nostalgic today, my last day as a Halifax resident. I moved to Halifax in September of 2001 (to finish my Engineering degree at Dalhousie). Other than a couple of 4 month coop work terms I haven't left. It has been a good run! I'll be back to visit, no question!
So my last day was spent... busy! Got a lot done today, with the help of a few friends along the way. Paul Machan came over this afternoon to help with some heavy lifting before the rain came (which thankfully more or less held off until sunset!). We made some progress loading up the Cube and he took off with my Echo as well (he is lending a hand selling it for me after I've left). Peter, Connie, and Caitlin stopped by around 5 with some pizza for supper (Thanks!) and Peter helped me load a few more 'akward' items. Caitlin had a great time with a couple of my flashlights. If it wasn't for a little box of Smarties I would have been leaving with one less flashlight, haha. With Peter's help I was able to get to the point where I am able to finish up the rest myself (tomorrow when the rain stops). At this point I'm 95% packed.
Later in the evening, Kendall stopped by for a pint and some good conversation (I was essentially done 'working' for the day). Keg freezer is still fully functional loaded into the Cube!
Nice visit and he left me with some words of wisdom to take with me to Calgary. So tomorrow I'll be up early to do a bit of final packing and then give the house a good once over (cleaning) before hitting the road for my first stop, Fredericton (which doesn't seem all that much of an adventure.. ).

"Sage Like advice" I've been known to give it.
ReplyDeleteWhat were the "akward" items you were packing?
ReplyDeleteNice, too bad it isn't summer/camping season. That cooler would come in handy on the trip! Have a good trip.
